Great design doesn't just look good, it communicates:
it inspires, it intrigues, it involves, it informs.
That's the reason we spend so much time talking, exploring and imagining, before we ever put pen to paper (or click to computer for that matter). You have to open a brief out before you can start to refine it down, which is why we'll often show you the ideas we rejected as well as the ones we went with - seeing a route that doesn't work can help clarify one that does, and why.
As you'll see from some of our case studies, putting in more thinking time always makes for a more inventive, appealing and robust result - and sometimes one that's rather different from what either we or the client expected at the outset. Think, think, fizz...
Colour, typography, tone of voice, iconography, layout, illustration.
Put them together one way and you get a beautiful medieval manuscript; put them another way and you get a hard-hitting red-top tabloid. Two extremes, but they both hit exactly the right spot for their readers. It all depends on what you want to do, and how you want to look - everything from the photography, graphic style and palette, right down to the choice of paper or pixels, makes a powerful statement about the brand or the business.
