Last night, we were delighted to win a Design Week Award for a project we worked on with European Land. The piece, which was also featured in the 2011 D&AD Annual, showcases the office space at 5 Merchant Square using striking installations to communicate the key benefits of the building.
Richard Banks, Managing Director at European Land, has commented: “The challenge was to change perceptions about how to market a commercial office building. This required a ‘shell and core’ finished building to be presented into a market that expected to see the building finished to ‘Category A’. The brief to Bostock and Pollitt was to do this in a striking, memorable and highly visual way that complemented the contemporary nature of the architecture of the building AND conveyed factual information about layouts, partitions etc in an innovative way.
As the client we feel this has been a hugely successful project and has quite literally changed people’s perceptions about how a commercial office building should be finished by the developer. This means our desire to create less waste, save time and money from the traditional fit-out approach have all been achieved.”
We’d like to pass on our congratulations to all the other winners and those shortlisted last night. And, of course, express our gratitude to Design Week for a fantastic evening.
